The Renowned Musician Urges Backing to Get Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to propel a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The project aims to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it fails to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced following a major charity concert held in September. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the performance was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.

The diverse array of artists contributing to Lullaby encompasses a selection of well-known figures from the music world. All participated in the benefit event, which successfully generated a considerable total for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a team of producers and composers. The single blends a fusion of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the initiative have emphasized that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These proceeds will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a spokesperson explained. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the region was noted for its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of buildings described as destroyed or damaged.

“In that context, a couple of million won't make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is above all making this cause better known and showing that another narrative exists.”

The track is launching this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a digital service from later in the month.
