Trevoh Chalobah Poised to Step in for Guehi in Three Lions Squad
Trevoh Chalobah followed his sibling Nathaniel in playing for England, becoming the twenty-first pair of brothers to play for the England side.
The Chelsea defender is expected to join up with the Three Lions selection to replace injured Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old footballer is due to join the team for England's final World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Albania, although it has not yet been confirmed.
The national side have already secured qualification for next summer's World Cup.
Chalobah earned his maiden invitation under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then played his first game against Senegal.
In the month of September, Tuchel stated Chalobah was unfortunate to be omitted from the team for qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia, and also didn't call him up for the next October international break.
Tuchel has been an important influence in Chalobah's progress, having given him his Chelsea debut in the year 2021.
Chalobah has featured in nearly all fixtures for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the side third in the English top flight, in the EFL Cup last eight and in the group stage of the European competition.
Guehi sustained a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League victory over AZ Alkmaar recently.
There are set to be additional call-ups to the selection. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has confirmed that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and shot-stopper Nick Pope (a concussion) will be unavailable from the national team.
